If I remember correctly, Greer argued in The Female Eunuch that men view women not as their own special kind of being, but rather as defective versions of men. Moran is clearly doing the same thing but in reverse.

Confession time: I read How to be a Woman during my soyboy male feminist phase when a student and thought she was a brilliant and unique thinker. We all did silly things when we were young, but still...

"Chelsea Handler announced her breakup with fellow comedian Jo Koy by claiming, “This is not an ending but another beginning. It is a comfort to know that I am still in love and love this man the way the sun loves the moon and the moon loves the sun.” https://www.thecut.com/2023/06/celebrity-divorces-breakups-in-2023.html

Good analogy. The sun regularly heats half the moon to boiling heat (if the moon had any atmosphere) and the other half to subfreezing cold, showers it with hard x-rays, gamma rays, solar wind, and other radiation - which the Van Allen belts protect the earth from, and the moon just sits there and takes it. I'm sure she did a good job in thinking this out, lol.

Re: suicide, we all know men take their lives more often, tragically, but fewer people know there are sex differences here, too. Women are more likely to self-harm, than men, and 90% of anorexics are female, of whom 1/3 die, either frron the effects of the illness or by suicide. Also, women are far more likely to “fail”; when they attempt suicide. Wonder if Caitlin writes about all this, but J won’t find out: having slogged through the extracts in The Times, I know I won’t be buying the book.

Both highly annoying women in my view - and I’m just a woman. My dad didn’t talk for years. We loved him. He lived in a family of 8 women, so he couldn’t get a word in for his whole life, obvs. But not one of us would condone the use of the word ‘willy’. Good one to debate on my ‘Sisters’ WhatsApp group though...

A family of 8 women? He can't have had a man cave. He must have had a man bomb shelter.

4 sisters, 4 daughters. He had a laundry cupboard and a banjo and a dog. He was a very happy man.

Women do not understand how men process emotions. Stop forcing men to talk. Let them be with other men doing things that give them mastery and agency.

The dog reference reminded me of the old joke, that women want a man like a Golden Retriever: good looking, attentive and obedient, and always happy to see you. Not entirely true obviously, but the impression you get from watching sitcoms.
